It would be hard to summarize our church of over 1,000 members, our elementary school of almost 200 students, and our thriving preschool ministry on two campuses. One phrase we sometimes use is: an exciting place to encounter an ancient faith. We have our feet in two worlds. We want to be faithful to God's Word and faithful to the Church of the ages, and at the same time we want to share the ancient Truth of the Gospel with a modern world.

Eighth Grade Religion Class Assignment: What's your Creed?
By mwentzel @ 10:56 AM :: 132 Views :: 0 Comments ::
  Our eighth grade class was asked to give a statement of their faith using the creed as a model.  Christa gave the following beautiful confession:

  I believe in God the Father who created the universe and everything in it.  He is all powerful, all knowing, and all loving.

   I believe in Jesus Christ, the only Son of the Father.  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin.  He lived a life without flaws, 100% perfect.  He was wrongly accused and sentenced to death, all without uttering a word of protest.  He lay in the grave for three days, and then by the power of God, he was raised.  He had won the battle; he had defeated death.  He then ascended to heaven, where he rules with God, preparing for his return.

    I believe in God the Holy Spirit, who lives in my heart and soul, teaching me to love, forgive, and believe.  He works to bring all people to faith.

   This is my faith.
